We have now passed on 99 motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifths wheels to local homeless veterans and family members. No money exchanges hands and no liability is incurred. Please call Chris if you have an unused RV (that is in decent shape & registered) at (661) 305-8325.
Our model cabin demonstrates how well built and inexpensive these tiny homes are, built on chassis in order to be moveable. They are considered "Specially-constructed mobile homes" by the DMV and are licensed as a CA Permanent Trailer.
Hope’s Village will have an organic vegetable & flower garden that will provide an opportunity for villagers to develop valuable job skills while experiencing the healing effects of working with plants. The garden will contribute to the village’s self-sufficiency while providing a source of fresh local produce for the village and broader community.
The cabins will be built by the villagers with volunteers using sustainable building methods. They are structurally sound, well-insulated, and a safe, warm, and dry place to sleep.
Cal Poly Construction Mgmt students
built Hope's Village two Cabins on
Wheels - we are so grateful!
Nipomo Tech High School built us a cabin
as well - such great students!
For the past four months, we've been taking our services to the streets. We provide sack lunches Monday through Saturday; some folks make lunches and others deliver throughout the City of San Luis Obispo. We are fortunate to have such wonderful volunteers who give of their time and energy so that others don't go hungry.
We are always in search of new or clean gently used tents, nylon sleeping bags, large backpacks and new tarps. Those living on the streets greatly appreciate these items as we gear up for the cooler weather and Winter rain.
